Printing digital photos can be done at a photo printing shop or at home on your own personal computer and printer. When printing at a printing shop, you can choose self serve or have the technician do it for you. Printing from home offers several additional challenges.
Your digital photos can be printed to look just as professional as those you can get from a photo print shop if you have the right equipment. You’ll first need a printer that is capable of photo print quality, the proper paper and plenty of ink for your printer. Most average printers can print photos but the quality will not be as high.
When printing photos from home, you will need to download the pictures to your computer or to your printer. Many photo printers have a slot to insert the memory cartridge right into the printer. For a printer that is not specifically set up for photo printing, you will need to download the photos to your computer. Once you have done this, you are ready to begin printing.
First, you will need to decide what size and how many along with which photos. Next, change
the print quality to “photo” to ensure a good print. Using photo paper is not required, but the prints will be much more professional looking if you do. Once you have done this, hit the print button and wait for them to finish printing.
A word of caution. Because photographs require so much ink to ensure a good output, it’s a good idea to let the photos dry for a short period of time after printing to avoid smearing them.
